AFC Grinstead vs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 3

K & H came away from AFC Grinstead with a 3-3 draw-but felt somewhat aggrieved at the manner in which a 3-1 lead was eroded.Although the home side dominated possession the defence felt reasonably comfortable whilst the attack were always confident they could score and so it proved as Toby Raftery (2) and Stuart Thompson duly obliged.

AFCG were rewarded for intelligent running off the ball with their first when a well struck shot deceived keeper Craig Jackson and slipped through his legs. Their second was from a looping header which hit the far post -the Referee ruled it was over the line before Jackson could catch it. Positioned as he was it was difficult to understand how he could have been sure the whole of the ball was over the line.

That was topped however when he awarded a penalty for handball against Troy Raftery who had the ball driven at him from 2 yards. With his hands by his sides short of having them surgically removed it is difficult to see how contact could have been avoided This left the K & H players with a sour taste as they reflected on a penalty shout in the first half when James Emmens was clearly barged in the back. The Referees decisions being final these reflections count for nothing save that K & H would rather not have had to re-visit the scene so soon in the Cup next week. K & H MOM went to Gregor Ross for his work rate throughout.
