Keymer & Hassocks Football Club. Playing Football in Hassocks at Adastra Park since 2003

6th Decemeber 2008
Ashurst Woodvs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 2

With such a disrupted programme this year K & H might reasonably have expected to be somewhat out of sorts in their visit to Ashurstwood and so it proved with a poor first half display particularly by the defence that saw the softest of goals conceded the, ball appearing to come of a home forward's back while everyone just looked on. In fairness the area they were defending was a tricky surface which the hosts had to cope with in the second half.

No real complaints about the score at the break then as Ashurst had played the better football and had most of the possession-but K & H felt there was a way back.

The optimism turned out to be well founded as they were much more in the game from the kick off and were able at last to apply some real pressure to the home defence who it must be said coped well until James Harris unleashed a piledriver which cannoned off the angle. At this point it would have been easy to slip into the feeling that it wasn’t to be their day but K & H MOM Jo Davey proved the saviour as he weaved his way past several players and slipped the ball into the far corner from a tight angle earning the draw which was probably a fair result.
