Keymer & Hassocks vs Ashurst Wood
Div 2

K & H went down 2-1 at home to Ashurst Wood which was particularly disappointing after Saturday's efforts but in truth they ran out of steam in the second half and Ashurst deserved their win.

It was a different story in the first half as K & H opened brightly with Stuart Thompson getting on the end of a Dan Southcombe cross-but the keeper made a fine point blank save. Some good work between Jo Davey and Thompson then created an opening for Toby Raftery who fired home first time.K & H had a great chance to increase the lead when Matt Thomas and Dave Edwards bore down on a ball to the far post but with the goal gaping they got in each others way and the opportunity was squandered.

The consensus at half time was that one goal would not be enough and so it proved as Ashurst started to get at the K & H back four with some penetrating runs culminating in a fine solo effort which brought them level. Both sides continued to strive for the win-K & H's best chance coming from a Troy Raftery long ball to James Harris but unusually for him he misjudged the flight of the ball.Ashurst had the better of the last fifteen minutes and got their reward when K & H failed to deal with a ball into their six yard box which  bobbled about before falling to an Ashurst player who converted from a yard out.

K & H MOM went to Stuart Thompson who despite being injured worked tirelessly till the end.
