Keymer & Hassocks vs Ardingly
Div 2

K & H have now secured a dizzying 5 points following a battling display against Ardingly FC.

Playing against the wind they found it hard going in the first half although that said had more of the ball than in most games this season but Ardingly were to open the scoring after capitalising on a poor clearance with a well taken effort.

Current top scorer James Emmens got the home side back in it with a surging run into the box only to be brought down for a penalty.Troy Raftery duly stepped up and converted.

K & H expected the wind to be an advantage after the break but it proved not so, the game becoming a bit scrappy.K & H did have one period where they managed to put Ardingly under some pressure but the visitors defended well until Gregor Ross fought his way into the box, there was a tangle of legs before the ball broke to Stuart Thompson who coolly drove home but the Ref felt there had been an infringement so the effort was ruled out.K & H had one more effort when Dan miles broke forward but his shot was beaten away by the keeper.

Ardingly finished strongly and thought they had won it near the end with an effort at the far post but eagle eyed lino Ben Watson ( who had not missed a thing all through the game) already had his flag up for offside.

Some of the visiting supporting became somewhat agitated in the closing stages descending into a tantrum, jumping up and down and stamping their feet before an object was thrown on to the pitch but fortunately no harm was done.

K & H MOM goes to Troy Raftery in recognition of his achievement in becoming second top scorer despite playing at centre back-he now has Emmens firmly in his sights.
