Barcombe vs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 2

K & H eventually secured a comfortable 6-2 win at Barcombe but it was far from that in the first half when they struggled to cope with the slope in heavy rain.Barcombe were the better side forcing a series of corners and generally making life uncomfortable with a high energy performance-they deservedly ended the half 1-0 to the good it would have been 2 but for a fine save by keeper Craig Jackson

Things looked bad at half time when inspirational Captain Ben Watson was forced off with injury but Eddie Emmens bravely went against domestic instructions to only play the first half and return home.Stuart Thompson who had sat out the first half came on and made an immediate impact finishing off a splendid move from close range.Emmens added the second when a defensive clearance cannoned off his boot and over the keepers hands.Jo Davey who was now showing his full range of skills weighed in with a fierce drive from outside the box

Barcombe were unlucky in that injury then reduced them to 10 men and as they tired Davey and Gregor Ross increased the lead further,Emmens completing the scoring with a trademark free kick

Robin King and Toby Raftery saw efforts clip the crossbar and come back off the post-but Barcombe never gave up and were rewarded with a second when keeper Jackson failed to hold onto a header

MOM went to Stuart Thompson who proved the outstanding impact player on the day
