Keymer & Hassocks vs East Grinstead Town III
Div 2

K & H playing only their 2nd home game of the season battled to a 2-0 win over East Grinstead Town 3rds.Their temporary home is proving difficult to adjust to as the amount of games being played on it is already cutting up the surface

They started very brightly down the slope with some excellent passing moves and soon went in front when Gary Thomas hit a superb ball into the box for Stuart Thompson to finish from close range.EG seemed a trifle shell shocked but battled back and had an equal share of the ball as the half went on.That said K & H should really have done better from the chances they created and were somewhat apprehensive about the second half with only a 1-0 lead in place

EG were knocked back soon after the restart when they had a player sent off but they did not seem to let it affect them too much as they strove to get back in the game. The K & H defence were well organised however and except for a save at full stretch by keeper Craig Jackson were never seriously in trouble despite the sustained pressure although they struggled to mount many serious attacks of their own.It was late in the game when Thompson capitalised on a goalie error to seemingly seal the win.EG kept going till the end and went close when a superb free kick just skimmed the bar

Alex Pearce had a fine first outing in the middle and young Isaak Ross created something of a record being booked only seconds after coming on for his debut. The Ref must have had a stiff arm by the end given the number of cards he brandished in what was actually a good keenly contested game
