Keymer & Hassocks Football Club. Playing Football in Hassocks at Adastra Park since 2003

19th March 2011
Hurst vs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 2

K & H recorded one of the most notable victories in the Club’s history overcoming adversity to run out 2-0 winners over Hurstpierpoint

Hurst seemed to have secured a host of new faces since the teams last met in January and they were quickly on the offensive pushing K & H back in their own half for the first ten minutes but they weathered the storm and gradually got into the game, going on to take the lead when Ian Parsons drove home from inside the box after his first effort had been blocked

The game was turning out to be a good contest with both sides playing some attractive football and that continued into the second half until Duncan O’Reilly was controversially sent off.K & H did feel too many decisions were going against them and this only served to galvanise the team to such an extent it did not seem they were a man down. They went on to fashion a number of chances –Stuart Thompson hitting the post- before Toby Raftery finally settled it from close range.Hurst went close near the end but Craig Jackson made a fine save

One of the Hurst players commented after the game that K & H was the worst team they had played all season! Oh dear
