Peacehaven vs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 1

K & H started their campaign with the long trip to Peacehaven only to return empty handed which made the return journey seem even longer

The first half was fairly even although K & H felt they had the better chances but the Peacehaven goalie kept them out. Both keepers had long kicks and the hard surface caused the ball to bounce higher than expected which made it difficult for the forwards to gain control at times .Jo Davey was lucky to survive a bone crunching challenge but fortunately got to his feet relatively unscathed. At the other end Ben Watson  enjoyed a good physical battle against their centre forward which earned him K & H MOM

The K & H forwards started to tire early  in the second half as every ball played forward seemed to go straight to their big centre back who proved to be the dominant figure when he went on the score the only goal from a corner with 15 to go.Prior to that they had also hit the post but the effort should not have counted if it went in as the covering defender was clearly impeded.K & H’s only real chance came when Troy Raftery pushed up from the back and found himself through in the area but the ball ran away before he could get a shot in

K & H felt their defence had  played well on the day and perhaps deserved a share of the points but credit to Peacehaven for taking their chance
