Keymer & Hassocks vs Sporting Crawley
Div 1

After a season away K & H finally returned to their home pitch at Adastra Park and came up against a very determined and confident Sporting Crawley side who put them under intense pressure from the start with some excellent passing moves which forced K & H to play very deep as they battled to keep SC at bay

However all the pressure was not paying dividends and as frustration grew SC sought to re-establish themselves by suggesting they were being dragged down to K & H’s level!

There was also acrimony concerning the Refs approach to controlling the game which involved the showing of many cards.K & H became upset feeling that he was being disproportionate in SC’s favour allowing more licence in their challenges and the game threatened to get out of hand as half time approached

K & H had few opportunities to get forward but one foray into the SC half proved fruitful as Jo Davey put Stuart Thompson in for a calm finish

After the re-start it was business as usual for SC as they continued to dominate possession and territory with some great passing moves but once more they failed to capitalise and their disdain for K & H apparently grew as one player described them as a pile of shit

In the event K & H went further in front as Toby Raftery picked out Ben Watson from a corner-his knock down was stroked home by Thompson.SC kept going and tested keeper Craig Jackson with a well struck free kick

The last half hour saw the game change as Ian Parsons became more influential with his ball winning activities in midfield whilst Raftery Davey & Thompson suddenly found they had more time on the ball. The SC defence who had not really been tested suddenly realised they had a problem trying to contain the trio which in the event proved beyond them as K & H rattled in 4 more with Davey and Raftery both firing home notable strikes from outside the box
