Framfield vs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 1

K & H made the long trek to Framfield for the opening game of the season-a venue where they have always struggled to get a result and as such they were not looking forward to it but I the event it turned out to be a very enjoyable jump back into football with all the elements in play—a referee who appeared to take a dislike to us, a lino who seemed to flag offside for every attack we mounted,a sending off and ultimately a win.

Framfield started very brightly K & H seeming to have forgotten how to play football over the summer and conceded an early goal after the ball broke kindly for Framfield from a corner but the finish was well struck.K & H’s memory then kicked in and they got well back into the game with new boy Anthony Grimwade pulling them level with a powerful strike into the top corner.Framfield were then unfortunately reduced to ten men through injury so K & H expected to boss possession in the second half.

That said Framfield battled gamely and did not appear to be handicapped but matters took another turn when Captain Ben Watson-incensed at being kicked retaliated and was sent off-although the Ref awarded  a free kick he took no action against the Framfield player.Justice appeared to be done when Fin Fogarty took the free kick and found Lewis Taylor who nodded it backwards-the keeper got  a hand to it but could not keep it out and the game was won.
